MEET BETH OLEJNICZAK

DEACONESS AND PARISH NURSE

Tell us a little about you and your family: 

My husband Kraig and I have 3 married children and 8 grandchildren. Our eldest son Ben and his wife Lauren live in Valparaiso, IN. Their 3 children are Vera, Samuel, and Jack. Our daughter Katie and her husband Andrew live in LaPorte, IN. Their 4 children are Alexandra, Eva, Laine and Taylor. Our son John and his wife Jaci live in Rockford, IL with their daughter Jackson. We also live quite a distance from our extended families in PA and WI.

Although it's hard to pick just one, what is your "verse to live by": 

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." - Jeremiah 29:11

What are your favorite things/hobbies to do in your free time? 

I love to travel (especially to spend time with the grands) but we live on Beaver Lake here in NWA so spending time out on the lake or watching the sunset over the lake with family and friends is always a reminder of God's great goodness!

Tell us a little about your past roles, education, or anything else you'd like us to know: 

I am a lifelong Lutheran and serve as a volunteer Parish Nurse and Deaconess here at ELC. I graduated from Valparaiso University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, attained my Master of Science degree in Nursing in 2008, and was consecrated as a Lutheran Deaconess from the Lutheran Diaconal Association in 2014. I serve blessed with the Holy Spirit to be the hands and feet of Jesus while on this earth.

What is one thing that people might be surprised to learn about you? 

I was kissed by Mohammad Ali!

What is your favorite thing about Emmanuel Lutheran Church? 

The people of ELC are some of the most welcoming and giving people I have ever known in a church family. And I think that describes it best - FAMILY! We love our Lord Jesus and we love each other.
