WELCOME TO EMMANUEL LUTHERAN
WE'RE GLAD YOU'RE HERE!
First of all, welcome to Emmanuel Lutheran Church! We're so excited to get to know you. We want you to feel welcome here. Our church is a place where people can meet Jesus, engage in life-giving community, and work together to be a blessing to others. We believe in creating a space where people can worship Christ, experience the presence of God, discover their gifts, and use them for God's glory. We understand visiting a new church can be a bit overwhelming. Be at ease. People who come here experience the presence of God's Holy Spirit and feel like they are coming home.

We gather to worship and commune each Sunday at 9:00am. Our worship is rooted in traditional luturgy that includes both traditional and contemporary music. Children are welcome to worship in the sanctuary. We also invite them to participate in a special children's worship during the Word and sermon time.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The atmosphere is comfortable and friendly with a “come as you are” approach to attire.
Services typically last a little over an hour. We hope you will stay for coffee, food, and fellowship time following the service.
We follow the Church calendar with a traditional liturgy. Each part of the liturgy is printed in a bulletin and on screens at the front of the sanctuary. Music is a blend of both traditional and contemporary. We celebrate Holy Communion each Sunday and on special Holy Days. Our Communion practice is in keeping with 1 Corinthians 11:26-29. Worshipers who have made public their confession of sin, who are baptized in the name of the Holy Trinity and who believe that the New Covenant of Jesus’ Body and Blood is for you, for the forgiveness of sin, for life, and for salvation ~ are welcome and invited to come forward to receive the Sacrament. If you have any questions, please speak with Pastor Carpenter prior to the beginning of the service. If you prefer instead to receive a blessing from Pastor Carpenter, you may come forward and indicate your intention by crossing your arms over your chest.
We are members of the North American Lutheran Church (NALC). We believe in and worship the Holy Trinity of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit as revealed in the Bible and as confessed in the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed. The Lutheran confessions are our faithful witness to the Bible. We are Christ centered, mission driven, traditionally grounded, and congregationally focused. We desire to live out Christ’s Great Commission to go and make disciples.
Yes! We have children’s church for pre-school through middle school aged children. During this kid-friendly worship time, they learn a Bible story with the aid of activities and crafts, they sing songs, say the Lord’s Prayer – and are reminded that Jesus loves them! We also have a nursery/cry room. It has a direct view of worship as well as live sound. Please know that you and your children are always welcome in worship at ELC.
There are white cards on the backs of chairs in the sanctuary. We ask everyone to fill out a card. One side of the card is about you – this gives us a record of attendance and it helps us stay in touch. The other side of the card invites you to tell us how we can pray for you. During the offering, you can place the card in the plate as it is passed. If you like, you can financially support the ministries by placing your offering in the plate as well.
If you have any questions, we want to help! Send our staff an email at elcoffice@elcnwa.org, and we will be happy to help you.
